Information we collect
We collect account and team information needed to provide the service, and your email address when you request updates. Feedback includes your message, account email, app version, platform, and current project identifier. You can optionally include system version details and agree to an invitation for a beta interview.
Optional desktop analytics record feature names, outcomes, timings, version, and platform under a random installation and session identifier. Signed-in events are associated with your account and team. These events do not include prompts, source code, screenshots, or session recordings. Website analytics are described separately below.
Separately, our download server counts download starts without setting cookies or browser identifiers. Its statistics store contains only daily totals by installer and version, retained for up to 90 days; it does not retain IP addresses, user agents, referrers, or individual download records. These aggregate counts operate independently of the optional website analytics choice. Our hosting provider still processes network information to deliver files and protect the service.
If you enable error reporting, scrubbed error types and application stack locations are sent to Sentry. Error messages, local file paths, request payloads, and attachments are removed. Native memory dumps and session replay are disabled. The service also records operational request status, route names, latency, and hosted AI usage needed to operate the beta; these records do not include request bodies in the metrics store.
Website analytics
With your permission, we use Umami Cloud to understand which pages people visit and how they find Spektral. It receives page views, page titles, referring website origins, browser language and screen size, and information about browser, operating system, device type, and approximate location.
Umami does not use tracking cookies or track you across websites. It processes your IP address and browser user agent to derive an anonymous session identifier; it does not store your raw IP address in analytics data. We exclude URL query strings and fragments, and send only the origin of a referring website. We do not send account identifiers, form contents, or session recordings to Umami.
Our separate, optional first-party website analytics record page views, download clicks, and broad source categories using a random browser identifier in local storage and a session identifier in session storage. These identifiers are not sent to Umami. Both analytics systems follow the same website analytics choice.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Maintain and manage our waitlist.
- Send product updates, launch announcements, and related communications.
- Improve Spektral and understand interest in our product.
- Protect the security and integrity of our services.
Data retention
Raw first-party product analytics are retained for up to 90 days and operational request metrics for seven days. Desktop events waiting to upload are limited to 500 entries and expire after seven days. Feedback drafts remain on your device for up to 24 hours and are removed after confirmed submission or when discarded. We retain account, service, and feedback records as needed to provide support and operate the service. Feedback can remain after account deletion; contact support to request removal of identifying details.
Umami Cloud website analytics are stored separately and retained according to our Umami subscription’s retention period. The 90-day limit above applies to our first-party product analytics, not to Umami Cloud. Contact us for details about website analytics retention or a deletion request.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from marketing or product update emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in those emails or by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information.
Desktop usage and error reporting are off until you opt in. Change them at any time using Privacy in the desktop app. Disabling usage analytics clears unsent events and resets your installation identifier. Website analytics, including Umami Cloud, stay off until you choose “Allow analytics” and are separate from marketing consent. Choose “No thanks” to stop future website analytics collection on this browser. We store your choice in your browser’s local storage; clearing that storage resets your choice. Contact support@spektral.design for data or feedback requests.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission over the internet or method of storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy on this page and revise the effective date above.
